Scriptures for Healing
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live unto righteousness; for by His stripes you were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24
Just as we find salvation for our souls through the finished work of the cross…so too we find healing for our bodies through the atonement provided through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The 53rd chapter of Isaiah holds the key to our redemption, spiritual and physical.
Isaiah 53:6 says, “. . . the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” (This verse provides for our salvation.)
Isaiah 53:4 says in the Hebrew, “Surely He hath borne our sicknesses, and carried our pains.” (This verse provides for healing.)
Matthew 8:17 says, “That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”
If we can believe that God laid our iniquities on Jesus, and because He laid our iniquities on Him there is salvation for us, then we can also believe what Isaiah tells us that He also laid our sickness and disease upon Jesus, providing also for our healing.
Prayers for Health and Healing
Below are some prayers that you can stand on as God is bringing divine health to your body:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your Living Word. You said that your Word is life to those who find it and medicine to all their flesh. Today, by my confession I apply your Word to my body by giving voice to it.
You said in Psalm 139:14 I will praise You, for [a]I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.” I declare that I was created by you and I am a marvelous creation.
I speak to sickness and disease today and proclaim that according to Philippians 2:10 “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth” That included sickness and disease, they too must bow down to the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every name in heaven on earth and under the earth bows its knee to Jesus’ name.
I speak to my body today and declare that I have authority over it. I command it to receive the Word of God. Matthew 8:17 proclaims “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”
Heavenly Father, I thank You that the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me and makes alive my mortal body.
I speak to my immune system & command it to line up with the Word of God. My immune system will destroy sickness & disease in my body & perform its job; for that is what God created it to do.
I thank you, Father, that every cell in my body responds to Your Word. Your Word permeates my body from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I confess that the Word of God is being made flesh in me.
Psalm 103:3 “Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases…”
Father, that is Your confession and I make it my confession also. I don’t judge by the sight of my eyes, I judge by Your Living Word. It is Your Word that lives in me and brings health & healing to every part of my body.
Heavenly Father, I rejoice at Your promise of divine health. You said it and I believe it! Today, I declare that I will see Your promise of healing manifest in my body.
Healing is mine because Jesus paid the price two thousand years ago. God so loved me that He sent His Son to die on the cross so that I could experience life on God’s terms. His abundant life manifests in me, making me whole…body, soul and spirit. Amen.
